Introducing Pushpad MCP: web push notifications for AI agents

We are happy to announce the first release of the official Pushpad MCP server.

Pushpad MCP lets AI assistants and agents interact directly with Pushpad. You can send web push notifications, check notification results, and manage your Pushpad resources using any AI tool that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

What can you do with Pushpad MCP?

You can use Pushpad MCP to:

  • Send web push notifications from your AI assistant
  • Send notifications to everyone, specific users, or selected audiences
  • Check delivery and click statistics for previous notifications
  • Manage push subscriptions and their targeting data
  • Manage Pushpad projects and senders
  • Build automated workflows with AI agents

The MCP server supports the full Pushpad API, including Notifications, Subscriptions, Projects and Senders.

A new way to interact with Pushpad

Until now, developers could work with Pushpad using the dashboard, REST API, or our official libraries.

MCP adds another option: you can now ask a compatible AI assistant to perform actions on Pushpad using natural language.

For example, you can ask it to send a notification to a user, check how a previous notification performed, or help manage your Pushpad configuration while you are developing an application.

This can be useful both for everyday development tasks and for more advanced AI automations.

Open source and ready to use

Pushpad MCP is open source and available on GitHub:

pushpad/pushpad-mcp

The repository includes the documentation you need to connect it to MCP-compatible tools, including examples for popular AI coding assistants.

Thank you for being part of the Pushpad developer community.

This is our first MCP release, so we would especially like to hear your feedback. If you have suggestions, questions, or ideas for AI integrations, feel free to contact our support or open an issue on GitHub.

Happy coding,

The Pushpad Team
