This time last year I started locking in for economics exam. I ended up getting one of the highest results in the UK by using this simple 4 bullet point plan below:
- 30 minutes daily of quizlets. I used my 2,000 term quizlets covering the entire specification as well as hundreds of niche evals, diagrams, application points every day until I mastered them. You can find the exact quizlets I used (and that 400 a-level econ students are using right now) here
- Youtube - Watch Tutor2U and ExpertTuition religiously, cover the topics you struggle most with and then complete topic-specific past paper questions on them.
- Learn every diagram you have to, and know how to explain them / integrate them into your answer. Diagrams are free marks! For the 47 diagrams you have to know click here
- Complete. every. single. past. paper. I ran out of past papers and ended up having to get ChatGPT to create me new ones. Questions repeat themselves so this is the best way to prepare!
I Hope that helps! Here are your updates on the global and UK economies:
UK Economy:
- The Government has announced a £2.2bn defence spending plan
- Sky has cut 2,000 jobs as it moves more customer services online
- UK inflation has fallen to 2.8%, lower than expected
Global Economy:
- US trading partners are warning of a retaliation against Trump’s new 25% tariff on imported cars
- Turkey’s central bank spent over $12bn trying to keep the Lira afloat after it fell almost 11% against the US dollar last Wednesday
