Hello friends and family, I am reaching out to ask for a big favor from you all. I am currently crowdfunding for my next film, It’ll Be Better in the Morning Johnny, and to get this project off the ground, I’m going to need your help. This film has been a personal dream project for almost a decade for me now, and it’s so close to being made. Every film, every painting, every photoshoot I have done was in preparation for this film (it’s safe to say this is like my Batman moment). Not only that, but in all the years of writing, re-writing this script, it has become my most intimate film, the main character has slowly become a mirror, one that I wish to share with you all. 

When prompted to write this note, I was asked to talk about community, what it means to me, and how it relates to this film. I tried to think about a quote that could perfectly embody my current thoughts, and in very Demilade fashion, the only one that felt right was a quote from my favorite game as a child: “My friends are my power.” (Kingdom Hearts 2) In the seven days this campaign has been active, I have been reminded so much how much love I am around, so many of you have already reached out, asking how to help and it is very deeply appreciated. I know with your continued support, this film will see the light of day, and I will be sitting in a theater watching it with you all.
